The police have requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s who wielded a weapon against a subordinate employee.


On the 29th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced that they have applied for an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s, Mr. A, on charges of attempted murder.

According to the police, Mr. A is accused of stabbing a man in his 40s, Mr. B, in the abdomen with a weapon at the meat section of a discount mart located in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 4 p.m. on the 27th.


Police investigations revealed that Mr. A wielded the weapon found at the workplace after an argument broke out because Mr. B did not follow work instructions and protested using informal language.


Mr. B was transported to the hospital and has undergone an initial surgery.


The police have secured CCTV footage from the scene and are investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident.
