Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will hold an Onnuri Gift Certificate reimbursement event at Masan Fish Market and Masan Seafood Market from August 3 to 9.
This event is being held to stabilize seafood prices and promote seafood consumption. Changwon City has received a government subsidy of 170 million KRW for reimbursements, and customers who purchase domestic seafood at traditional markets will be eligible for reimbursement.
This is expected to be very helpful for consumers purchasing seafood. Please note that the reimbursement event will not be held on August 4 during the event period.
The reimbursement amount is up to 30% of the seafood purchase price: ▲ For purchases of 34,000 KRW or more but less than 67,000 KRW, 10,000 KRW will be reimbursed ▲ For purchases of 67,000 KRW or more, 20,000 KRW will be reimbursed. However, to promote the consumption of domestic seafood, reimbursement is limited to the amount spent on domestic seafood purchased on the same day.
Jung Guyong, Director of the Maritime, Port and Fisheries Bureau, said, "I hope this event will provide some support to the merchants of the fish market and Masan Seafood Market, who are experiencing difficulties due to the closure of Masan Lotte Department Store. We will cooperate with the merchants' association to manage and supervise the event site to prevent any inconvenience for citizens, and will conduct regular inspections to prevent fraudulent reimbursements."
