Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Paris Organizing Committee, is operating the 'Victory Selfie' program for the first time at the Olympics, allowing athletes who stood on the medal podium to use the Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to capture their glorious moments themselves.

Until now, all personal belongings, including mobile phones, have been prohibited from being brought into Olympic medal ceremonies, and only official Olympic media were allowed to film the podium from a distance.

However, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, once the medal presentation is over, Olympic volunteers hand the Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to the athletes, enabling them to vividly capture the excitement of their victory. Thanks to the foldable design allowing photos from various angles, each athlete can take creative selfies.

Photos taken through the Victory Selfie on the podium are linked in real-time to the 'Athlete 365' application provided on the Olympic Edition to all participating athletes. Athletes can download the photos themselves and easily share them with family, friends, and fans.

Rayssa Leal, a Brazilian athlete and member of Team Samsung Galaxy who won the bronze medal in the women's street skateboarding event, said, “It was a moment where I could feel camaraderie beyond competition by taking Victory Selfies together on the podium with medalists who demonstrated the spirit of sportsmanship through the competition.”

Earlier, Samsung Electronics distributed 17,000 units of the Z Flip6 Olympic Edition equipped with Galaxy AI to athletes at the Samsung Olympic Experience Center located in the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Village.

The specially produced Olympic Edition supports athletes from various countries to communicate without language barriers and share the excitement of the Olympics vividly with fans worldwide. It also includes specialized services and apps for convenient use while athletes stay in Paris.
