On the 2nd-floor outdoor space of the Mapo-gu Public Health Center's Haetbit Center, a variety of flowers warmly welcome pregnant women and the fetuses preparing to enter the world.

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) created a flower path of about 150㎡ in the 2nd-floor outdoor idle space of the Mapo-gu Public Health Center to help the healing and prenatal education of pregnant women, the main users of the Haetbit Center.

The Haetbit Center’s ‘Flower Path’ is planted with 253 trees of five species including hydrangea, Blue Angel, and Emerald Green, and about 1,600 herbaceous plants of 10 species such as golden sedum, thyme, chrysanthemum, and Stokesia.

Along with this, Mapo-gu arranged healing phrases and set up five photo zones so that pregnant women can remember the happy moments with their fetuses and keep them as a page of memories.

An official from the district said, “We created a beautiful flower path so that visiting the Haetbit Center itself can be part of prenatal education activities. We believe that this green-based, nature-friendly space will greatly help reduce stress for pregnant women.”

Additionally, Mapo-gu installed heart-shaped benches and others along the Haetbit Center’s ‘Flower Path’ so that not only pregnant women but also infants, accompanying families, and residents can rest while enjoying the flowers and trees.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “As the role of the local community in pregnancy and childbirth grows, I believe the public health center should also become a place where people can visit comfortably. Mapo-gu will continue to provide warm interest and support to create a low-threshold public health center that approaches residents closely.”

Meanwhile, last year, Mapo-gu established the ‘Haetbit Center’ at the Mapo-gu Public Health Center, which provides one-stop integrated management from pregnancy preparation for prospective parents to postpartum maternal health care and infant health checkups, as well as the ‘Cheokkeut Center’ to support unmarried mothers, making every effort to create a ‘Happy Mapo for Children and Parents.’
