The body of a man in his 60s with a 5kg dumbbell tied to his arm was found at the mouth of the Han River, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

On the 28th, Yonhap News reported that the Goyang Police Station received a report from a resident around 1 p.m. that a man's body was floating in the water near the Haengjunaru ferry dock in Deogyang-gu, Goyang City.


Police and fire authorities who arrived at the scene recovered the body and confirmed the identity. The identification revealed that the man was Mr. A, a man in his 60s who lived alone in Seoul. At the time of discovery, a 5kg dumbbell was tied to his arm with a shoelace.


The police are keeping multiple possibilities open regarding Mr. A's cause of death and are investigating the specific circumstances of the incident while searching for his bereaved family members.
