Former Special Prosecutor Park Young-soo, who was prosecuted on charges of receiving money and goods from so-called 'fake seafood businessmen,' was sentenced to a suspended prison term in the first trial.
On the 26th, the Criminal Division 33 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Dong-hyun) sentenced former Special Prosecutor Park, who was indicted for violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, to 4 months in prison with a 1-year suspension.
Former Special Prosecutor Park was non-custodially indicted in November 2022 on charges of receiving seafood worth approximately 860,000 KRW three times from Kim, a 'fake seafood businessman,' and using a Porsche vehicle worth about 2.5 million KRW in rental fees free of charge, totaling 3.36 million KRW.
Earlier, the prosecution had requested a 1-year prison sentence at the sentencing hearing held on the 31st of last month.
