Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) has announced the official shipment of ‘Apple Mango,’ known as the queen of subtropical fruits.
Goheung-grown Apple Mangoes are harvested when fully ripe, with an average sugar content of 18-20 Brix, and have an excellent aroma, making them highly popular among consumers. This year, aiming for a production volume of 10 tons, sales are being conducted through the online store ‘Real Market’ operated by Neogames to secure stable demand.
Real Market’s main customers are users of the mobile farming management game ‘Real Farm,’ who are encouraged to make continuous purchases by receiving in-game items when buying agricultural products. Real Farm has over 60,000 daily users, and through this, Goheung Apple Mangoes are expected to be introduced to even more consumers.
This year, Goheung-gun expanded the cultivation area of Apple Mangoes by supporting six farms with 1.6 hectares and 200 million KRW. Additionally, the Agricultural Technology Center is supporting stable sales channels for farmers by providing cultivation technology education and introducing a consignment sales system so that Apple Mangoes can establish themselves as a subtropical specialty crop in response to climate change.
A county official stated, “We will continue to make steady efforts to expand Apple Mango cultivation farms in response to climate change and to contribute to increasing farmers’ income by focusing not only on technical education but also on sales channels.”
