Lee Im-saeng, the Technical Director of the Korea Football Association, has been booked by the police over the controversy surrounding the appointment of Hong Myung-bo as the head coach of the national football team.

On the 24th, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced that a complaint against Director Lee was filed on the 17th, and he is being investigated on charges of obstruction of business.
The complaint reportedly states that despite procedural issues in the process of appointing Coach Hong, Director Lee exercised authority and influence to finalize the appointment decision.
The Korea Football Association appointed Hong Myung-bo, the head coach of Ulsan HD FC, as the national football team coach ahead of the 2026 CONCACAF World Cup. In response, Park Joo-ho, a member of the National Team Strengthening Committee, claimed procedural problems through YouTube.
