Chungnam Province is expanding its areas of exchange with Sichuan Province in China.

On the 16th, Governor Kim Tae-heum met with Tian Xiangli, Chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, at the provincial government office. They agreed to expand public-private cooperation and to activate exchanges in high-tech industries such as new materials and automobiles.

Since 2008, the province has maintained a friendly cooperative relationship with Sichuan Province, conducting exchange activities in the fields of industry, tourism, and agriculture. Through this meeting, they decided to expand the areas of exchange to include the legislature, administration, and sports.

As the province is promoting the activation of exchanges with China, the visit of high-ranking officials from Sichuan Province to Chungnam is expected to greatly contribute to strengthening exchange and cooperation between the two regions in the future.

Governor Kim stated, "This year, the two regions are pursuing practical international cooperation through inter-local government exchange meetings and are continuing active exchanges in the fields of carbon neutrality and sports. We will soon establish a China office in Shanghai to further facilitate exchanges."

Chairman Tian Xiangli said, "Sichuan Province is working together with the heads and directors of the Political Consultative Conference to expand exchanges in areas such as the legislature. We will do our best to expand practical exchanges between the two regions."
