KB Securities Conducts Environmental Protection Campaign at Jeju Hamdeok Beach

On the 13th, KB Securities announced on the 16th that it conducted a plogging campaign to protect the marine environment called 'Kkaebi Securities Change Our Life - Jeju' at Hamdeok Beach in Jeju.

Kkaebi Securities Change Our Life is KB Securities' flagship summer social contribution project, a large-scale environmental protection campaign aimed at preserving the environment of beaches frequently visited by tourists during the summer vacation season. KB Securities started this campaign in the summer of 2022 at Ingok Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon Province, continued in 2023 at Haeundae Beach in Busan, and this year held it at Hamdeok Beach in Jeju.

Through this Kkaebi Securities Change Our Life - Jeju campaign, about 70 participants including university students from environmental clubs in the Jeju area and KB Securities employees took part in a plogging campaign to collect trash and waste discarded on the beach. Additionally, they provided biodegradable bags to beachgoers and local residents on site to promote a zero-waste campaign aimed at reducing garbage disposal.

Notably, this year, for the first time, they collaborated with a specialized ploving (collecting trash while freediving) organization to collect and clean underwater waste. Various events such as prize draws were held to encourage active participation and promote awareness among tourists.

Before conducting the ‘Kkaebi Securities Change Our Life - Jeju’ campaign, KB Securities supported five major beaches in Jeju (Hamdeok, Ihoteu, Gwakji, Hyeopjae, Jungmun) by providing parasols, tables, and chairs made from recycled transparent PET bottles generated in Jeju. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to revitalizing the local economy as part of the village tourism business.
