Gangnam-gu, Seoul announced that District Mayor Joseong Myung visited the closed-circuit television (CCTV) control center on the 1st as his first activity to mark the 2nd anniversary of his inauguration.
Gangnam-gu Control Center, which has the largest number of CCTVs among local governments with 7,721 units, has built a crowd management and missing persons search system by combining artificial intelligence (AI) analysis functions over the past two years. The district plans to establish an intelligent selective control system and a smart city integrated platform by integrating AI into various areas of daily life.
On-site that day, it was demonstrated that when it rains and the water level in more than 60% of the sewer pipes is detected, the CCTV monitors the manholes, and AI controls various situations such as smoking, illegal dumping of garbage, intoxicated persons, and children's traffic safety.
Mayor Jo said, “The intelligent selective control system will be the foundation of a safe smart city,” and added, “We will always prioritize the safety of residents and create a safe Gangnam by responding quickly to disaster situations.”
