Jongno-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Munheon) will distribute KakaoTalk emoticons for free at 2 p.m. on the 1st of next month to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the 8th term of the elected government.
To increase familiarity with the district administration and promote Jongno-gu's official social media service (SNS) channels, 25,000 people who become friends with Jongno-gu on KakaoTalk on a first-come, first-served basis will receive emoticons usable for 30 days.
Simply search for ‘Jongno-gu Office’ on KakaoTalk and add the channel as a new friend. Existing friends can unsubscribe and then re-add the channel at the distribution time to receive the emoticons.
The emoticons consist of 16 types featuring two newly developed characters. They include commonly used phrases in daily life such as ‘Thank you’, ‘I love you’, ‘Sorry’, and ‘Have a nice day’.
Meanwhile, Jongno-gu operates various official social media service (SNS) accounts ranging from ‘Danggeun’ for life-oriented district promotion, highly accessible platforms like ‘Naver Blog’ and ‘KakaoTalk’, to ‘Instagram’, which is popular among younger generations, providing useful information for daily life.
Additionally, Jongno TV on YouTube delivers district news and policies. Major programs include ‘Jongno Now’, which guides the latest news and events in Jongno-gu, and ‘Jongno Encyclopedia’, which explains Jongno policies in an easy and enjoyable way.
Jongno-gu stated, “We expect the KakaoTalk emoticon event to enhance familiarity with the district administration and contribute to channel activation,” and added, “We hope many interested people will participate.”
