'Future Healthcare at a Glance' Gangbuk Samsung Hospital Hosts Future Research Symposium

Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine's Kangbuk Samsung Hospital announced on the 26th that it will hold the "Future Research Symposium" on the 28th afternoon, focusing on data, healthcare, and future technology.

Kangbuk Samsung Hospital is leading digital healthcare in areas such as data-driven digital healthcare research and development (R&D) projects utilizing information and communication technology (ICT), mobile worker health management, and non-face-to-face medical consultations for overseas Koreans. In January, to innovate digital healthcare and lead future medical business, the hospital launched the Future Healthcare Headquarters and established the Healthcare Data Center under it. They have also recruited data scientists, engineers, and big data experts to secure capabilities in medical big data and artificial intelligence research and development.


The symposium will feature expert lectures on core future medical fields such as medical big data, digital healthcare, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovative technologies. Additionally, experience zones and patent/startup consulting zones will be operated for attendees.


The symposium will begin with a welcome speech by Shin Hyun-cheol, director of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, and will be composed of three sessions. The first session starts with a lecture titled "Adding Data to Healthcare" by Kang Jae-heon, head of the Future Healthcare Headquarters, followed by sessions on ▲The Value of Cohorts and Implementation of Preventive Precision Medicine (Jang Yoo-soo, director of the Cohort Research Institute) ▲Digital Innovation for Personalized Health Management (Bae Ye-seul, director of the Big Data Research Institute).


The second session, themed "Employee Health Management and Corporate Health Management," will begin with a keynote lecture on healthcare by Cho Yong-gyun, head of the Department of Health Medicine, followed by ▲Corporate Health Management Partner, Corporate Health Research Institute (Oh Hyung-seok, director of the Corporate Health Research Institute) ▲Employee Mental Health Management by the Corporate Mental Health Research Institute (Cho Sung-joon, deputy director of the Corporate Mental Health Research Institute) ▲Use of THE health and cases supporting health management (Kim Young-jin, head of Samsung Life Health Platform Business Team) ▲Introduction to Data AI-based Corporate Health Management Platform (Kim Ji-hee, group leader of Samsung Welstory).


The final third session, themed "The Meeting of Future Technology and Healthcare," will feature a keynote lecture by Jin Sung-min, deputy director of medical services, and discussions on ▲Surgical Paradigm Shift Led by Extended Reality (XR): Possibilities and Limitations (Jung Yong-gi, head of Research Strategy Office at Samsung Seoul Hospital) ▲Prescription Cases and Development Directions of the Digital Therapeutic Device (DTx) for Insomnia ‘SleepQ’ (Kang Sung-ji, CEO of Welt) ▲Development Cases and Future Directions of Wearable Product-based Health Solutions (Choi Jong-min, group leader at Samsung Electronics) ▲Large-scale Language Models and Federated Learning for Data Analysis (Shin Soo-yong, head of Kakao Healthcare Research Institute).
