Busan Urban Corporation, Joint Fire Drill with Arpina and Haeundae Fire Station

Improved Initial Firefighting Response Capability through Realistic Scenario Training

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) announced on the 25th that it conducted a joint fire drill at the youth training facility Arpina together with the Haeundae Fire Station.

The drill, which simulated an actual fire outbreak in Arpina, involved four fire trucks and participating personnel. The training covered ▲prompt reporting and evacuation guidance by the in-house fire brigade ▲initial fire suppression before the arrival of fire trucks ▲emergency treatment and transport of simulated patients.

After the drill, Kim Youngsoo, Fire Drill Chief of Haeundae Fire Station, provided training on the use of fire extinguishers and hydrants. The importance of quick reporting to 119 was also emphasized, focusing on real-life fire suppression cases.

Kim Youngsoo, Fire Drill Chief, said, "I would like to thank the Arpina staff for participating in the drill as if it were a real situation. I hope you will continue to maintain an organic response system with the fire station and operate a safe youth accommodation facility."

An Arpina representative who participated in the drill said, "It was a valuable time to learn how to use fire suppression tools and acquire the ability to respond calmly in case of emergency."

Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "We will make every effort to strengthen our initial response capabilities to unexpected disasters through regular fire drills," adding, "Arpina will do its best to ensure the safety of customers using the youth hostel."
