Pham Minh Chinh, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, will visit South Korea in early July. He is scheduled to meet with key business figures, including Cho Hyun-sang, Vice Chairman of Hyosung Group.


According to industry sources on the 24th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the "Korea-Vietnam Business Forum" hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 1st of next month. The forum, chaired by Vice Chairman Cho, who is also the chairman of the Korea-Vietnam Economic Cooperation Committee, will be attended by about 300 executives from major companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motor, LG, and POSCO, along with Minister Ahn Duk-geun of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. On the Vietnamese side, around 100 participants including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Minister of Planning and Investment, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a business delegation are expected to attend.

Vice Chairman Cho is expected to discuss bilateral cooperation measures with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.


Additionally, the forum will feature various Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and presentations on topics such as "Korea-Vietnam Financial Cooperation Measures in the Era of Digital Transformation" and "Bilateral Cooperation Measures to Address Global Supply Chain Risks."


Separately from the forum, there is a possibility that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will meet with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and visit Samsung business sites during his visit. It is also anticipated that he will meet with CEO-level executives from SK Group. Chairman Chey Tae-won has been on a business trip to the United States since the 22nd and will remain there until early July.


Meanwhile, Vietnam ranked as South Korea's third-largest trading partner last year, following 2022. South Korea is the largest investor in Vietnam.
