The Curious Design of 'Galaxy Buds3': 'Kongnamul'? ... Image Leak

Overseas IT Company Leaks Galaxy Buds3 Images
Product Images Seemingly Accidentally Uploaded on Coupang

Samsung Electronics (005930) has leaked images of a product presumed to be the upcoming wireless earphones 'Galaxy Buds3'. The leaked product in the photos appears to have a stem, resembling the so-called 'bean sprout design' similar to Apple AirPods.

On the 21st (local time), IT media outlets such as SamMobile reported that images presumed to be the Galaxy Buds3 were leaked through the domestic e-commerce platform Coupang. The leaked images seem to be screenshots of a product page accidentally uploaded by Elago, a company specializing in digital device accessories. The page has since been deleted.

Looking at the leaked images, the Galaxy Buds3 shows a significant design change from its predecessor. It abandons the 'kidney bean' design maintained until the previous model and switches to a 'bean sprout' design with stems added. With the newly added stems similar to Apple AirPods, the Galaxy Buds3 visually resembles the AirPods. However, while AirPods have an overall rounded curved design, the Galaxy Buds3 appears more angular, and the stems look closer to a triangular shape rather than curved. SamMobile evaluated, "The Galaxy Buds3 comes in metallic silver color with sharper lines and angles, giving a sleeker impression than Apple AirPods."

The Galaxy Buds3 will also be upgraded in terms of performance. First, it will feature Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology. This function detects ambient noise through microphones and generates opposite sound waves to cancel out the noise, providing customized noise cancellation. Additionally, it is expected to include IP57-rated dust and water resistance, an LED light strip called 'Blade Lights', a battery lasting 24 hours, and a single driver.

Samsung Electronics plans to hold the Galaxy second-half unpacked (new product launch) event in Paris, France, on the 10th of next month, unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold6 along with the Galaxy Buds3 series, Ring, and Watch 7 series.
