Unauthorized Use of Rocket Delivery Image by Chinese Ali... Coupang "Plans to Request Sales Suspension"

A Chinese e-commerce platform AliExpress seller has been found to be using Coupang's Rocket Delivery images in the Korean market for sales activities, prompting Coupang to take active measures in response.

According to the distribution industry on the 20th, AliExpress handles many products on its Korean website that are the same as those Coupang directly purchases from China and sells through Rocket Delivery.

Unlike Coupang, AliExpress operates by simply hosting sellers of these products. However, the product sales pages still display Rocket Delivery images, and the phrase "Imported directly by Coupang" was also used.

This appears to be a sales strategy leveraging the recognition of Coupang, Korea's largest e-commerce platform, and Rocket Delivery. Recognizing this, Coupang plans to actively respond to AliExpress's unauthorized use of its trademark.

Meanwhile, the global e-commerce market is rapidly growing, centered on Chinese companies. According to the "Analysis of the Global E-commerce Market Status in the Last 5 Years" report released by the Korea Economic Association (HanKyungHyup), the market size grew from $2.9 trillion in 2018 to $5.8 trillion last year, doubling in five years.

Among them, the top global e-commerce company by sales is the American company Amazon. Following are JD.com (China) in second place, Alibaba (China) in third, Pinduoduo (China) in fourth, and Coupang (Korea) in fifth. China has swept three of the world's top five e-commerce companies.
