Volunteer Smiles Bloom Brightly at Yeonggwang-gun's 'Happiness Connection Mobile Laundry Service'

The Veterans Association Yeonggwang-gun Branch (President Shin Gi-dong) Volunteer Group held the 'Happiness Connection Mobile Laundry Service' at Daema-myeon Office.

According to Yeonggwang-gun on the 19th, about 20 members participated in the event, washing bedding for 15 households and 18 blankets in the area, sharing joyful volunteer work. This project aimed to improve the quality of life by assisting with laundry for elderly people with limited mobility and severely disabled individuals who cannot properly wash bulky items such as blankets.

On the 19th, the Veterans Volunteer Association of Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, held the "Happiness Connection Mobile Laundry Service" at Daema-myeon Office.

The county supports the project with about 19 million won in funding, running from April to November. The service targets 200 people identified by the towns and townships, including elderly living alone, disabled persons, and senior centers. One 1.2-ton vehicle equipped with two drum washing machines capable of washing and drying is deployed and operated.

The project is managed and promoted by the Veterans Association Yeonggwang-gun Branch Volunteer Group. The mobile laundry vehicle visits 3 to 4 households daily, providing a one-stop service from collecting laundry such as blankets and bedding to washing and drying.

President Shin Gi-dong said, "Homebound elderly and disabled people who lack daily living abilities are defenselessly exposed to various skin and respiratory diseases, making the creation of a clean environment urgently necessary," and added, "We hope to continue volunteering diligently to greatly help these individuals maintain a comfortable living environment."
