Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating the ‘Summer Vacation 1:1 College Admission Counseling Center’ for the first time, providing high school students with academic diagnosis and college admission information during the vacation.
This summer vacation counseling center was established to respond to the changing college entrance environment according to counseling demand and to reduce the financial burden of counseling costs for parents.
A team of professional instructors from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s Education Research and Information Institute provides subject-specific study methods and customized college admission information through analysis of students’ school records and mock exam scores, and explores strategic admission directions together.
The counseling center operates five sessions daily, each lasting 40 minutes, from July 22 to August 14. The service is free of charge and takes place in the counseling room on the 3rd floor of the Gwangjin-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
The application period is from June 21 to July 7, and participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone residing in Gwangjin-gu or currently attending or graduated from a high school located in the district can participate.
Students who wish to participate can apply through the Gwangjin-gu Office website (Participation & Communication > Residents’ Opinions/Participation > Online Application), and for more details, contact the Gwangjin-gu Office Education Support Division at 02-450-7168.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, “We have prepared a time to think about the direction of college admission and strategies for entrance exam preparation during the summer vacation,” adding, “We will continue to promote various policies that provide practical help for college admission to address the increasingly diverse admission policies.”
Meanwhile, Gwangjin-gu supports ‘1:1 Online Mentoring by University Students’ for efficient college entrance preparation, and plans to hold ‘1:1 Consulting for College Admission Early Decision Preparation’ for high school seniors in August.
