At 9:27:56 AM on the 16th (Korean time), a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred 1984 km south-southwest of Dunedin, New Zealand, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration citing foreign observation agencies.
The epicenter was at 61.00 degrees south latitude and 154.26 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 7 km.
