The second half Seoul Metropolitan Council chairman election has officially begun.
The People Power Party, the majority party in the Seoul Metropolitan Council, announced that the election for the chairman, vice chairman, and representative member for the second half will be held on June 19 at 1:30 PM.
According to the election notice, candidate registration will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM on the 14th, and election campaigning will commence upon registration.
Only candidates who have completed registration are allowed to campaign, and no campaign staff are permitted.
The election will be held starting at 1:30 PM on the 19th.
The candidates for chairman are expected to be Vice Chairman Nam Chang-jin (Songpa 2), Park Jung-hwa (Seongdong 1), and Choi Ho-jung (Seocho 4).
For vice chairman, candidates mentioned include Min Byung-joo (Jungnang 4), Lee Jong-hwan (Gangbuk 1), Hong Guk-pyo (Dobong 2), and Kim Young-chul (Gangdong 5).
Additionally, the candidates for representative member are likely to be Lee Seong-bae (Songpa 4), Lee Seung-bok (Yangcheon 4), and Kim Jong-gil (Yeongdeungpo 2).
