Gumi City recently held a donation ceremony at the Chorokbyeol Toy Library located within the Kumo Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, where Park Deoksu, President of the Daegu Gumi Hometown Association, donated 30 million KRW. According to the city on the 12th, about 10 people attended the ceremony, including President Park and Monk Beobdeung.
The donation, delivered on the 11th, will be used to purchase a vehicle for operating the delivery service of the mobile toy library. Previously, Yoon Sanghoon, President of the Gumi City Sports Association, also supported the operation of the toy library by donating 10 million KRW for toy purchases.
The Chorokbyeol Toy Library, opened in 2010, is a toy rental facility for households raising infants and toddlers. With this donation, the city plans to purchase a vehicle and launch the "Mobile Toy Library Project," which will deliver toys to households in remote and isolated areas, as well as to vulnerable families raising infants and toddlers, through advance reservations for those who have difficulty visiting the toy library in person.
President Park Deoksu stated, "I hope this donation will be of some help to families who have difficulty visiting the library to borrow toys."
Mayor Kim Jangho expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank Presidents Park Deoksu and Yoon Sanghoon for supporting the toy library for the healthy growth of infants and toddlers," and added, "We will do our best to create Gumi as a city where it is easy and comfortable to give birth and raise children by carefully addressing the inconveniences and difficulties of families raising young children."
President Park Deoksu of the Daegu Gumi Hometown Association, originally from Hae-pyeong-myeon in Gumi City, has continuously shown interest and support for his hometown, actively engaging in various social contribution activities for the coexistence of the local community. Last year, he also participated in Gumi City's Hometown Love Donation Program, donating the maximum amount of 5 million KRW and expressing his warm affection for the development of his hometown.
Deoksu Park, president of the Greater Daegu Gumi Association (center), is delivering 30 million won for the purchase of a vehicle for the Green Star Toy Library in Gumi City.
