Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 12th that it will launch an administrative support service utilizing generative AI. Three types of AI services specialized for administrative tasks, developed by the Gyeongbuk Research Institute, will be provided to employees within the ChatGyeongbuk service.
Currently, anyone can access and use the ChatGyeongbuk service, but the three specialized administrative services are only available when accessed from computers within the provincial government office.
The services provided include support for writing press releases, support for drafting business proposal documents, and a Hwagog Special Lecture chatbot service. For the press release and business proposal document services, as long as existing materials related to document creation are available, the system can automatically generate drafts of press releases and business proposal documents.
The Hwagog Special Lecture chatbot service is based on the special lectures provided on Gyeongbuk Province's official YouTube channel, BoisoTV, and allows users to ask questions and obtain relevant information. It is expected that the time required to draft press releases and business proposal documents, which usually takes about an hour, can be reduced to less than three minutes.
Since last year, Gyeongbuk Province has been seeking ways to enhance work efficiency and expertise by introducing generative AI into administrative tasks. Through an all-staff survey and one-on-one in-depth interviews, the province identified the tasks with the highest demand and prepared a total of eight service proposals, categorizing them into repetitive and specialized tasks.
The three services will be continuously upgraded through data learning, and new services will be developed to support employees in specialized areas such as budget-related document creation and guideline Q&A.
Lee Jungwoo, Director of the Metaverse Science Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, said, "By integrating generative AI technology into administration, we expect to significantly improve work efficiency, delegate simple tasks to AI, and focus on creative work. We will continue to enhance these services and develop them further as government proposal projects."
