The owners who lured two middle school girls playing at Yeouido Hangang Park to an entertainment establishment they operated in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, and committed sexual crimes have been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 8th, Yonhap News reported that the Osan Police Station in Gyeonggi Province sent two people in their 40s, including Mr. A, to the prosecution under arrest on charges of rape and child abuse under the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse.
On the 7th, the Osan Police Station in Gyeonggi Province sent the owner Lee and employee Park of an entertainment establishment to the prosecution under arrest on charges of rape and violation of the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth Against Sexual Offenses, including solicitation.

Additionally, Ms. B, Mr. A’s girlfriend, who kept the victims without notifying the police despite missing person reports being filed, was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Missing Children Act. The reason was that she kept the missing children without informing the police.
Mr. A and others are accused of taking Ms. C and others to the entertainment establishment they jointly operated from April 18 this year to the 5th of last month, where they directly sexually assaulted or forced them into prostitution. It was investigated that they lured Ms. C and others by meeting them at Hangang Park and offering "part-time job positions." Ms. C is known to have borderline intellectual disability.
Initially, Mr. A and his staff claimed that they did not have sexual relations with Ms. C and others, asserting that "some customers committed sexual crimes." However, it was reported that they also had sexual relations with the children multiple times. Ms. C is known to have borderline intellectual disability.
Mr. A and others were investigated for taking Ms. C and others to entertainment establishments in Seoul and Osan and committing sexual crimes. Ms. C and others were barely able to contact their parents and were handed over to their families on the 5th of last month. Afterward, the police conducted an investigation and urgently arrested Mr. A and others on the 30th of last month.
The police are reportedly expanding the investigation to include the customers who committed sexual crimes against Ms. C and others through Mr. A’s arrangement, as well as entertainment establishment employees involved in the sexual crimes.
The crime of statutory rape of minors punishes those aged 19 or older who have sexual intercourse or molestation with persons aged 13 or older but under 16, even if the victim consents.
