Famous Trot Singer's 'Bittu' Controversy: "Hasn't Repaid 26 Million Won for 9 Years"

Trot singer Hyun Jin-woo has been caught up in a 'debt controversy' (accusations of not repaying borrowed money). The informant claims that although Hyun Jin-woo admitted to borrowing money, he did not repay the full amount.

According to JTBC's 'Case Manager' on the 7th, informant A said that in the early morning of April 2015, he received a call from Hyun Jin-woo asking urgently to borrow some money and transferred 26 million won.

A said, "At the time, local elders recognized Hyun to some extent, and since he had appeared on broadcasts, I thought he wouldn't make a mistake, so I lent him the money."

He explained, "After initially transferring 9 million won to Hyun Jin-woo, I received a message asking if I could lend more, so I transferred 9 million won and 8 million won in succession. The money was received not through his own account but through the account of a hometown friend who worked with him."

At that time, Hyun Jin-woo claimed he was a 'public figure' and could repay the money quickly, even sending a photo of his ID card. However, after borrowing the money, he disappeared for seven years and reappeared on TV in 2022, according to A's claim.

Seeing this, A sent a text message to Hyun Jin-woo's contact saying, "If you don't contact me, I will send an email to the broadcasting station," but Hyun Jin-woo replied, "I don't want to contact you," and "Don't call me."

Regarding this, Hyun Jin-woo stated, "I have been subjected to threats against my family and character assassination by A." He also added about the debt, "While looking through my notebook, I remembered. There was a record that I instructed my manager to give all the earnings I made as a promotional model in the past to A, about 27 million won."

A responded to Hyun Jin-woo's claim, saying, "It is true that I cursed out of frustration because he appeared on TV without repaying the money, but I only received 2 million won from Hyun Jin-woo's side and nothing else. If he has repaid the money, please disclose the bank deposit records."

Meanwhile, Hyun Jin-woo's agency, KDH Entertainment, stated regarding the debt controversy, "We are currently organizing our position on this matter."
