Cho Kuk: "Patriotic Martyrs and Meritorious Persons Must Be Properly Treated... Traitors Should Not Live in Comfort"

"Japan's Appetite Returns... Government Doesn't Even Properly Protest"

On the occasion of Memorial Day on the 6th, Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, stated, "We will lead the country to properly honor patriotic martyrs and veterans, and ensure that their bereaved families and descendants live with dignity."

In a message released that day, Jo said, "We will prevent traitors and collaborators who are pro-Japanese, pro-Joseon, pro-Sun, and pro-Manchuria from living in luxury and rising to high positions," emphasizing this point.

Jo pointed out, "Japan is once again salivating. Whenever there is an opportunity, Japan claims Dokdo as their territory, and warships bearing the Rising Sun flag intrude into our waters. The messenger 'Line,' developed by Korea, is being swallowed up by Japan," adding, "Yet the Korean government does not properly protest. The president and the presidential office are protecting Japan."

He criticized, "While foreign powers are infringing on our interests, they are instead being defended," and added, "They do not care about being criticized as a pro-Japanese, pro-Joseon, pro-Sun, pro-Manchuria regime."

He continued, "This cannot continue any longer. Respect and compensation for veterans and national merit recipients are not the entirety of Memorial Day," stressing, "Those who rely on foreign powers and those who would sell out this country at any moment must be prevented from gaining a foothold. That is the true meaning of Memorial Day, honoring loyal martyrs."

Finally, Jo expressed, "I bow my head in gratitude to the patriotic ancestors and national heroes who established and defended the Republic of Korea."
