Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 6th that the number of customers in their 20s and 30s active on their mobile app has increased by more than 20% since they created community spaces for customers within the app.

Shinsegae introduced community spaces for food and shopping enthusiasts called 'Chamjalmeogeosseoyo' and 'Chamjaljilleosseoyo' on January 9th this year, and in April, they launched mobile customer communities featuring BTS’s character TinyTAN and Hello Kitty.


From January 9th to the 31st of last month, the number of customers in their 20s and 30s active in the Shinsegae Department Store mobile app communities increased by about 21% compared to the same period last year.


This effect was especially noticeable in shopping and food-related communities. Customers who joined multiple communities tended to have higher spending activity within Shinsegae Department Store.


Accordingly, Shinsegae Department Store plans to continue attracting young customers by offering more diverse content and promotions within the mobile app. Currently, the 'Chamjalmeogeosseoyo' community is hosting the 'Season and Table X Taste of Jeju Sea Recipe' event until the 9th. This event invites participants to share recommended recipes using Jeju specialties or their own recipes by attaching photos or videos in the community.


All participants will receive 1000 Shinbaek rewards, and the top 20 posts with the most 'likes' will be awarded an additional 2000 Shinbaek rewards.


A Shinsegae Department Store official said, "The mobile app community not only serves as a place for interaction but also leads to increased interest in the department store, contributing to attracting new customers and boosting sales. We will continue to introduce various interactive content."
