Choo Mi Ae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, has joined a 6-line acrostic poem challenge targeting President Yoon Suk Yeol, who on June 5 announced the "potential discovery of oil and gas reserves in Yeongil Bay, Pohang." On the same day, Choo posted on Facebook under the title "Please participate in the urgent 6-line acrostic poem challenge," sharing a poem aimed at President Yoon. The poem reads: "Thinking there would be 'exclamations' of surprise, you personally made an 'explosive' announcement, but oh, 'gullible' people! Oh, 'frustrating' misery! Even if this country were an oil bonanza, 'everyone' turns away, only my 'spouse' is left." The first syllables of each line spell out the phrase "Impeachment is the answer."

While President Yoon appears to be attempting to recover his approval rating, which has dropped to the 20% range, through this announcement, the poem suggests it is unlikely to have a significant effect. Additionally, the phrase "only my spouse is left" is understood to refer to his wife, Kim Keon Hee.
On the same day, Representative Chu wrote a post titled "Please Participate in the Emergency 6-Line Acrostic Challenge" on Facebook and posted a 6-line acrostic poem targeting President Yoon.

Previously, in 2017, when Choo Mi Ae was the leader of the Democratic Party, she also used a 5-line acrostic poem to criticize the Liberty Korea Party, the predecessor of the People Power Party. Around June 2017, the Liberty Korea Party held a "Liberty Korea Party 5-line acrostic poem" event for its second national convention, to which Choo responded: "'Ja' (Liberty Party) era-arrogant politics, 'Yu' (Yushin era)-dictatorial politics, 'Han' (Grand National Party) era-malicious politics, 'Guk' (nation)-politics that made the people suffer, 'Dang' (party)-must end immediately."
The Liberty Korea Party also published a 6-line acrostic poem commentary on the "Democratic Party of Korea." Their poem read: "'Deo' (For a better world) people hope, but even when 'Bul' (called) they cover their ears, even when begged to watch they close their eyes, as they always have 'Eo' (yesterday and today), 'Min' (public sentiment) is distorted and blame is shifted, only 'Ju' (assertions) are made and responsibility is never taken-this outdated politics of the Democratic Party must 'Dang' (end) immediately."
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Korea continues to strongly criticize President Yoon's announcement, calling it a "political show aimed at recovering approval ratings." On June 4, Kim Yong Min, the Democratic Party's Senior Deputy Floor Leader for Policy, said, "We cannot help but suspect that this was nothing more than a hasty, rosy announcement." Jeong Cheong Rae, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, also dismissed it as "a political show to divert public attention and recover recently plummeting approval ratings."
