KOSPI Starts Higher, Recovers 2680 Level... Samsung Electronics Up 3%

KOSPI is on the rise. Samsung Electronics is climbing nearly 3% following remarks by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia.


As of 9:57 a.m. on the 5th, Samsung Electronics recorded 2,680.98, up 18.88 points (0.71%) from the previous trading day.


By investor type, individuals and foreigners net bought 58.3 billion KRW and 59.0 billion KRW respectively. Conversely, institutions net sold 117.2 billion KRW.


By sector, medical precision equipment is up 3.33%. Additionally, electrical and electronics, and manufacturing sectors are rising more than 1%. Meanwhile, insurance and construction sectors are slightly declining.


Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 77,500 KRW, up 2,200 KRW (2.92%) from the previous trading day. This appears to be influenced by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s statement that Samsung Electronics’ High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) integration is still under testing.


Also, KG Energy Solution and Samsung SDI are up more than 2%, while Hyundai Motor, POSCO Holdings, and LG Chem are rising over 1%. On the other hand, KB Financial is down 2.19%, and SK Hynix and Shinhan Financial Group are falling more than 1%.


KOSDAQ recorded 846.51, up 0.67 points (0.08%).


By investor type, foreigners and institutions net bought 38.8 billion KRW and 7.3 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net sold 37.4 billion KRW.


By sector, semiconductors, machinery equipment, and general electrical electronics rose more than 1%. Conversely, textiles and apparel, information devices, computer services, and pharmaceuticals fell more than 1%.


Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM traded at 196,200 KRW, up 5,000 KRW (2.62%) from the previous trading day. Additionally, EcoPro and EO Technics are rising more than 2%. Meanwhile, Enchem fell 4.49%, and Classys, Samchundang Pharm, Pearl Abyss, and Ligand Chem Bio are down more than 1%.
