Polaris Office announced on the 4th that it will start selling its Office AI (artificial intelligence) cloud service in Japan. The service will be provided through Japan's Sourcenext.
Earlier in March, Polaris Office signed a contract with Sourcenext to supply services in the Japanese market. Sourcenext is a software company listed on the Prime market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which mainly consists of global companies.
With the newly launched service by Polaris Office, AI-equipped office software will now be available in the Japanese market as well. It supports various document tasks such as writing, image generation, PowerPoint creation, and Excel editing, and is compatible with multiple devices including PCs, smartphones, and tablets.
A Sourcenext representative stated, “Due to compatibility with Microsoft (MS), the product is highly preferred in the Japanese market,” adding, “We expect to rapidly increase market share in Japan with reasonable pricing.”
A Polaris Office representative emphasized, “Based on over 10 years of accumulated know-how in the office software (SW) cloud market, compatibility, and reasonable pricing, we will introduce our services in various countries.”
Polaris Office celebrated the 10th anniversary of its office SW cloud service in April. Since its launch in 2014, it has about 130 million users worldwide, 80% of whom are overseas users. Following the official launch of Polaris Office AI in September last year, it released 'On-Device Office AI for Mac' last month, which can be used without internet access, providing solutions usable in various environments.
