A story has sparked controversy after a resident who complained about double parking was met with verbal abuse from the offending resident.
On the 4th, a post titled "Is it just me being sensitive about double parking in the apartment underground parking lot?" was uploaded to an online community. The author, Mr. A, explained, "Yesterday (the 3rd) around 6:49 PM, I found a car double parked in the underground parking lot," adding, "The problematic car was not moved until 7 PM. It was also parked crookedly, so even pushing it didn’t help."
After repeatedly calling the car owner without an answer, Mr. A finally sent a message saying, "What time is it now, and you’re occupying three parking spots? What kind of manners is this?" However, the car owner, Mr. B, called Mr. A back and shouted at him in a confrontational manner. Mr. B said, "I can’t move the car because I’m sick," and verbally abused Mr. A, saying, "I haven’t caused you any trouble, so what’s it to you?"
Mr. A appealed, "At first, Mr. B thought I was the apartment security guard and spoke nicely, but once he realized I was a resident, he changed completely," adding, "I don’t know why I should care whether the car owner is sick or not. I only asked him to park properly, but I was shocked to be verbally abused."
Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "There’s no point fighting with that kind of person," "Many people don’t understand common sense," "Next time, just park somewhere else," "You should have thought he was a strange person and not contacted him," and "I can’t believe people still park like that these days."
