원본보기 아이콘On the 31st, the KOSPI and KOSDAQ closed slightly higher. The KOSPI saw institutional investors stepping in to buy at low prices after three consecutive trading days of declines and a surge in 52-week low stocks. Foreign investors sold off more than 1 trillion won.
The KOSPI closed at 2,636.52, up 0.04% (1.08 points) from the previous day. The index opened at 2,657.87, up 0.85% (22.43 points) from the previous close, but lost momentum in the latter part of the session due to strong selling pressure from foreign investors.
Individuals and institutions were net buyers of 284.3 billion won and 1.0628 trillion won, respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers of 1.3374 trillion won. In the futures market, individuals and institutions sold 76.4 billion won and 499.8 billion won worth, respectively, while only foreign investors bought 563.8 billion won.
Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, most closed lower. LG Energy Solution rose 0.91%, and KB Financial Group increased 0.89%. Notable declines included SK Hynix down 3.32%, Hyundai Motor down 1.56%, and Celltrion down 0.62%. SK shares surged for two consecutive trading days following the second trial ruling on the divorce lawsuit between Chairman Chey Tae-won and Noh So-young, director of Art Center Nabi. The stock jumped 9.26% the previous day, surpassing 150,000 won, and closed at 176,200 won, up 11.45% on the day.
The KOSDAQ closed at 839.98, up 0.96% (7.99 points) from the previous day. It opened at 835.01, up 0.36% (3.02 points) from the previous close, and maintained a steady trend. Foreign investors were the sole net buyers with 246.9 billion won, while individuals and institutions were net sellers of 217.7 billion won and 20.6 billion won, respectively.
Among the top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, only HLB (-0.49%), Celltrion Pharm (-0.56%), and Rainbow Robotics (-0.25%) declined. Notable gains included Enchem up 6.15%, EcoPro up 4.77%, and Alteogen up 3.02%.
