원본보기 아이콘To widely promote the traditional folk holiday Dano (June 9), the National Dano Federation held a changpo water hair-washing event at Cheonggye Plaza in Seoul on the 22nd. Models participating in the hair-washing performance are smiling brightly. Our ancestors used to wash their hair with boiled changpo water on Dano day, called 'Dano Bi-eum,' meaning to drive away evil spirits.
In addition to the changpo water hair-washing, the event also featured a grand parade to the shrine of General Han in the morning of Dano day, involving numerous participants and horses, known as the Hojang parade, introducing the traditions and culture of the Dano Festival to the citizens.
