TopSun's global promotion and commercialization of renewable energy projects are gaining rapid momentum.

TopSun (CEO Yoon Jung-taek), an integrated renewable energy solutions company, announced on the 20th that it has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with a leading renewable energy company in the UK for joint investment and direct EPC execution related to the UK ESS and renewable energy projects.

Under this agreement, both parties plan to review investments in a 57MW ESS system and a 73MWp solar power project, aiming to start construction in the second half of this year and commercialize as early as the second half of next year. This rapid global expansion of TopSun's renewable energy business is expected to secure renewable energy project rights in overseas markets for the first time since its establishment.

A TopSun representative stated, “It is difficult to disclose the contracting party directly at the MOU stage, but it is a reputable company leading renewable energy projects in the UK.” He added, “The company independently operates nearly 2.5GW of renewable power generation capacity (equivalent to the total domestic solar power generation in 2023), and its newly approved development pipeline exceeds 2.8GW, making it a global top-tier company in the renewable energy sector.”

He further explained, “Since the company is already leading renewable energy projects in the UK and Europe, it will serve as a driving force to rapidly penetrate the European market with our ESS systems and solar power projects and secure market leadership.”

In fact, in March, TopSun signed a strategic business agreement with CATL (Ningde Shidai, Chairman Zeng Yuqun), the world's largest ESS battery manufacturer, to actively pursue global ESS projects. Along with this, the joint investment in the UK ESS and solar power projects is expected to make the project rights acquisition more tangible.

A TopSun representative said, “Through this agreement, we will accelerate not only investment in renewable energy projects in the UK but also the expansion of renewable energy-related investment and construction projects in Europe through direct execution,” adding, “We will expedite our entry into the EU market.”

Meanwhile, TopSun, established in 2008, is a total solution company covering all aspects of solar power, from development planning to maintenance management for solar power plants. It has successfully completed the Haenam and Sinan solar power projects, the largest solar power complexes in Korea, and has business capabilities in both solar power and ESS. Recently, as part of Team Korea, which includes SK Ecoplant and the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND), TopSun signed a ‘MIPA (Mutual Investment and Project Acquisition Agreement)’ with EIP Asset Management for the Texas Concho Solar Project Fund in the United States.
