A man in his 50s, a YouTuber accused of brutally killing another YouTuber with a weapon in broad daylight in front of a courthouse on a weekday, has been arrested.
On the 11th, Busan District Court Chief Judge Lee So-min conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing for suspect A, who is charged with murder, and issued an arrest warrant, citing "risk of flight."
The hearing was conducted in writing, as A refused to appear in person for the detention hearing.
A is accused of stabbing YouTuber B, also in his 50s, multiple times with a weapon he had prepared in advance in front of the Busan Court Complex in Yeonje-gu, Busan, at around 9:52 a.m. on the 9th, causing B's death.
Immediately after the crime, A fled using a vehicle but was apprehended by police in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, at around 11:35 a.m. the same day.
According to police investigations, A and B had been in conflict since last year, filing nearly 200 complaints and accusations against each other related to defamation and violence charges.
On the day of the incident, A, who was scheduled to appear in court as a defendant on charges of assaulting B, committed the crime after seeing B conducting a YouTube live broadcast in front of the courthouse while intending to attend the trial.
