Shin Young-hee, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, held a pre-arrest detention hearing on the 8th for Choi (25), who is accused of murder, and issued an arrest warrant, citing "risk of flight."

According to the police, Choi, a medical student at a prestigious university in Seoul, is accused of stabbing his girlfriend, Ms. A, multiple times with a weapon on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seocho-gu, Seoul, at around 5:20 p.m. on the 6th.

Choi told the police that he committed the crime after his girlfriend said she wanted to break up. Evidence also showed that he had prepared for the crime in advance, purchasing the weapon at a large supermarket in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, two hours before the incident and luring Ms. A out.

As a result of an autopsy conducted by the police on the victim's body that morning, the cause of death was determined to be bleeding from stab wounds (exsanguination due to self-inflicted wounds).

At around 2:50 p.m. that day, Choi, who came out of the Seoul Seocho Police Station detention center to attend the pre-arrest detention hearing, said "I'm sorry" when asked by reporters if he had anything to say to the bereaved family. He did not answer questions from the press such as "When did you plan the crime?"
