On the 5th at Pohang Hwanho Park, '2024 Pohang Children's Day Grand Festival' Held

To commemorate the 102nd Children's Day, various events will be held throughout Pohang.

On the 5th, the ‘2024 Pohang Children's Day Grand Festival’ will be held at Pohang Hwanho Park under the slogan ‘Joyful Bang! Bang!’


This event is designed to reflect on the precious meaning of Children's Day and to allow children, the future leaders, to create joyful memories and fully enjoy themselves through various performances and hands-on activities.


At the outdoor ceremony stage in the central plaza of Hwanho Park, from 10 a.m., celebratory performances such as bubble and magic shows, broadcast dance, and an award ceremony for exemplary children will take place. Various attractions, including Marine Corps military equipment, will be exhibited throughout the plaza.


Additionally, there will be a variety of experience booths such as talent shops, photo booths, face painting, augmented reality traffic safety experiences, CPR training, fire safety experiences, traditional wedding experiences, and flowerpot stand making. Challenge OX Quiz King, Gyeongbuk Children's Writing Contest, and Drawing Contest will also be held.


On the 4th, at the Pohang Coastal Passenger Terminal, the Pohang Maritime Police Station will host the ‘Children's Day Commemorative Patrol Vessel Open Event,’ offering patrol vessel tours and hands-on experiences.


On the 5th, at Pohang Yeongildae Beach, the Pohang Sports Council will organize the ‘2024 Children's Marine Sports Free Experience Event,’ where participants can enjoy various marine activities and side events such as two-person kayaks, power boats, and cruise yachts.


At the Pohang Gwamegi Culture Center, on the 5th, the ‘Children's Day Event with Gwamegi Culture Center’ will feature experience classes, treasure hunts, and roulette spinning events.


The Pohang Youth Foundation will hold the ‘YOUTHtopia’ event on the 4th at the Pohang Youth Culture House to commemorate Youth Month and Children's Day. Under the theme ‘Drawing a Bigger Future and Bigger Dreams for Pohang Youth!,’ various one-day classes in different fields will be offered free of charge.


Also, on the 4th, at the Gyeongbuk Science High School campus, the Pohang Office of Education will host the ‘18th Pohang Science Sprout Festival’ under the theme ‘A Children's Science Dream Space to Touch with Hands and Feel with Heart.’


Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “I hope children, the future leaders of Pohang, spend a joyful Children's Day making precious memories with their families and friends,” and added, “We will take the lead in creating a happy city where children can freely pursue their dreams.”
