Hanil Cement announced on the 30th that at the ‘2024 Wage and Collective Bargaining Kick Off’ held on the 29th at the Hanil Cement Building in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, the union signed an agreement to delegate all matters related to this year’s wage negotiations to the company. The event was attended by Jeon Geun-sik, President of Hanil Cement, and Shin Gwang-seon, the union chairman.

Chairman Shin stated, “Despite last year’s difficult business environment, labor and management showed mutual consideration and did their best in their respective roles, achieving record-high performance. Given the sharp decline in the construction market and various raw material price instabilities this year, we decided to delegate the wage negotiations to the company to prepare for these challenging times together.”

In response, President Jeon said, “The culture of trust and coexistence between labor and management has been the driving force behind Hanil Cement’s continued growth. I thank the union members for choosing this beautiful journey of coexistence, and let us join forces to overcome the crisis and become a true top-tier company in the cement industry.”

Hanil Cement also reached a no-strike agreement in 2021 to overcome the management crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19 and to swiftly implement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. Furthermore, since the labor union’s founding in 1965, it has maintained 59 consecutive years without labor disputes.
