Additionally, with a wigi jihak (爲己之學, study to reveal true self) attitude, he translated 80 Korean and classical Chinese novels, contributing to communication between past and present and the popularization of humanities values, greatly promoting the unique Seonbi spirit.
Yeongju City enacted an ordinance in May 2018, the first nationwide, to award individuals or organizations with significant achievements in promoting Seonbi spirit through academic research, realization of Seonbi thought, and practice of Seonbi spirit.
From January to March this year, the city solicited candidates for the Seonbi Award, and after document and on-site evaluations by the Seonbi Award Steering Committee (Chairman Jeong Se-geun), the final recipient was selected.
The award ceremony for the 6th Korea Seonbi Award will be held on May 4 during the opening ceremony of the Yeongju Korean Seonbi Culture Festival.
