The police, who are investigating current and former executives of the Korean Medical Association (KMA) on charges of inciting collective action by residents, have conducted an additional search and seizure of Lim Hyun-taek, the president-elect of the KMA.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Public Crime Investigation Unit began the search and seizure of President-elect Lim at around 10 a.m. on the 26th.

The police had previously seized Lim's mobile phone during a search last month, but it was confirmed to be an old device. They are now conducting an additional search to obtain the mobile phone currently in use.

In response, the KMA presidential transition committee issued a press release criticizing the action as clear political retaliation. The committee stated, "Conducting a search and seizure just days before President-elect Lim's term begins is absolutely unacceptable," adding, "It is an intimidation tactic before the official start of the term."
