Lim Young-seok, Director of the National Arboretum, Joins the 'ByeBye Plastic Challenge'

The Korea National Arboretum announced on the 26th that Director Lim Young-seok has participated in the 'Bye Bye Plastic Challenge.' This challenge is a nationwide practice campaign led by the Ministry of Environment. Its main purpose is to reduce unnecessary plastic use in daily life and promote eco-friendly consumption.

The challenge is conducted in a relay format. Participants who join the challenge nominate the next participant to continue the challenge. Director Lim joined the challenge upon being nominated by Bae Jae-soo, Director of the National Institute of Forest Science. He nominated Kim Joo-hwan, President of the Korea Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta, and Kang Seok-gu, Director of Woodyism Wood Utilization Research Institute, as the next participants.


Director Lim stated, “I will actively participate in restoring the health of the Earth by reducing unnecessary plastic use and encouraging restraint in the use of disposable products.”
