Daedong Mobility Completes Rooftop Solar Power Plant at S-Factory

Daedong Group's smart mobility subsidiary, Daedong Mobility, announced on the 26th that it has completed a 3MW rooftop solar power plant at the smart mobility production factory 'S-Factory' in Dalseong-gun, Daegu.

S-Factory, completed in November 2022, is a future-oriented smart factory currently producing E-scooters, golf carts, sub-compact tractors, lawn mowers, and more, which are sold domestically and internationally.

The installation area of the rooftop solar power plant is approximately 31,000㎡, and Daedong Mobility can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1,508 tons annually through this facility. Additionally, by using electricity generated from solar power, it can save about 230 million KRW annually. It also expects additional annual revenue of 260 million KRW from selling surplus electricity.

Kwon Ki-jae, Vice President of Management at Daedong Mobility, said, “S-Factory, the core base of our global mobility business, can now secure more than 100% of its electricity consumption from renewable energy through the solar power plant. Following Daedong’s ESG management declaration last year, Daedong Mobility will also take the lead in practicing ESG management.”
