This evaluation was conducted on a total of 105 indicators, including 86 quantitative indicators (goal achievement evaluation) and 19 qualitative indicators (best practice evaluation).

Jeonnam Province achieved its best-ever results in this evaluation, ranking first in quantitative evaluation at the provincial level and second in qualitative evaluation, and was selected as an excellent institution (ranked 1st to 3rd) in both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.

In the 2021 evaluation, it was selected as an excellent institution in qualitative evaluation (2nd place), and in the 2022 evaluation, it was selected as an excellent institution in quantitative evaluation (1st place). This is the second time, following 2023, that it has ranked within the top three in both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.

Notably, it achieved the nationwide first place in goal achievement in the quantitative evaluation, and in the qualitative evaluation, it had the second highest number of selected cases nationwide with eight.

Regarding the qualitative evaluation, the ‘Best Practice for Fostering and Welfare Promotion of Women Farmers’ submitted by Jeonnam Province received high praise for supporting the largest number of happiness voucher cards nationwide to women farmers in rural areas of Jeonnam and for promoting a 2,000-village communal meal project to reduce household burdens.

Additionally, the ‘Best Practice for Obesity Prevention Management Project’ received good scores for implementing various projects that bring health and joy to the daily lives of senior citizens.

Jang Heon-beom, Director of Planning and Coordination Office of Jeonnam Province, said, “The discovery and implementation of policies that satisfy and bring happiness to residents ultimately received good evaluations,” and added, “We will continue to devote all efforts together with public officials for the development of Jeonnam and the happy lives of its residents.”

Following the completion of the joint local government evaluation, Jeonnam Province plans to select 10 excellent cities and counties and one developing city or county among 22 cities and counties by May, and provide differentiated financial incentives totaling 1 billion KRW.
