On the 25th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold the '2024 Yongin Special City Children's Day Grand Festival' at the City Hall Sky Plaza on the 4th of next month, the day before Children's Day.
Considering that most Children's Day festivals are concentrated on the 5th of next month, the actual Children's Day, the city decided to hold the event on the first day of the holiday, the 4th.
At the event, various performances such as ▲family musical 'Gureumbbang' (Cloud Bread) ▲comedy magic mime ▲Nanta ▲military band and honor guard performances ▲children's cheerleading ▲musical jump rope ▲Dream Start children's performances, and interactive activities like 'balloon art' for children will be held. Recreation hosted by comedian Hwang Young-jin will also take place.
The venue will feature experience programs and booths prepared by local organizations. The experience programs and promotional booths will include participation from ▲Childcare Support Center ▲Social Economy Support Center ▲Saemaeul Association ▲Children's Meal Management Support Center ▲Child Protection Agency ▲Volunteer Center ▲Gyeonggi Arts Center Gugak Institute ▲Yongin Cultural Foundation ▲UNICEF Korea Committee ▲Social Welfare Council ▲Child Abuse Joint Response Team ▲Yongin City Dream Start, Welfare Policy Division, Tourism Division, and Livestock Division.
The event also includes a 'Safety Experience' program where children can participate directly. The 'Safety Experience Zone,' prepared jointly by Yongin City Citizen Safety Center, Yongin Eastern Police Station, Yongin Fire Station, 700th Special Forces Brigade, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Traffic Museum, offers education and hands-on experiences to raise awareness and importance of safety all in one place.
In the 'Amusement Park Zone,' visitors can enjoy brick stacking, soccer, and basketball, while the 'Picnic Zone' operates various food trucks to provide rest and refreshments.
