Employees of Gyeongbuk Yeongyang Nonghyup and Buk Yeongdeok Nonghyup (Chairman Seo Seok-jo) mutually donated 5.5 million KRW through the Hometown Love Donation to promote regional co-prosperity.
This donation was initiated to seek mutual development plans between the two regions and to promote development and cooperation of each local government through the Hometown Love Donation. Fifty-five employees from Yeongyang Nonghyup and fifty-five employees from Buk Yeongdeok Nonghyup united their hearts and each donated 100,000 KRW, totaling 5.5 million KRW, to each other's local governments.
Yang Bong-cheol, chairman of Yeongyang Nonghyup, said, “We decided to proceed with the mutual donation with the spirit of supporting each other's regional development,” adding, “We will actively support the Hometown Love Donation system so that mutual donations between the two organizations can continue in the future.”
County Governor Oh Do-chang expressed, “I sincerely thank all the executives and employees of Yeongyang and Buk Yeongdeok Nonghyup who participated in the mutual donation with one heart,” and said, “I hope that continuous exchanges and cooperation between the two regions will be strengthened for mutual development, and the donation will be used valuably for Yeongyang County.”
The Hometown Love Donation system allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their current address, receiving tax credit benefits and gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
The donated funds will be used for the development of Yeongyang County, including support for socially vulnerable groups, youth development and protection, enhancement of culture, arts, and health for local residents, and revitalization of the local community.
