The project site is Jangjwa-ri near the ‘Wando Cheonghaejin Ruins.’ This year, 200 million KRW (100 million KRW from the national government and 100 million KRW from the county) will be invested to establish an overall plan including project promotion policies, and additional national funding will be secured next year to proceed with the project.

The project promotion policy will focus on improving the village residential environment that harmonizes with the identity of the national heritage, and especially reflect residents’ opinions in the project plan.

Han Ji-young, head of the Culture and Arts Division, said, “Until now, residential areas within the national heritage have been designated as cultural property protection zones, restricting residents’ property rights such as construction activities. We hope this project will enable coexistence and mutual growth between the national heritage and residents, and we will do our best to promote the project.”
