Sacheon City Council Holds Anti-Corruption Integrity Pledge Meeting

Assemblyman Kang Myung-su Selected as This Month's Integrity Lawmaker

Continuous efforts are being made by the Gyeongnam Sacheon City Council to create an honest council and a clean Sacheon City. On the first day of the 275th extraordinary session, the Gyeongnam Sacheon City Council held an ‘Anti-Corruption Integrity Practice Resolution Meeting’ in the main assembly hall with all council members in attendance.

This resolution includes adherence to the council members' code of conduct and ethics code, fostering an honest organizational culture, prohibition of accepting money and entertainment, and banning solicitation and bribery. In particular, alongside the Anti-Corruption Integrity Practice Resolution Meeting, the council selected the Integrity Member of the Month and conducted an interview.

Kang Myung-su, who was selected as the first Integrity Member, introduced the phrase ‘Jeokjajisim (赤子之心)’?meaning the heart of an innocent child?as his one word for integrity. Councilman Kang believes that if we approach moments of conflict and choice with the heart of an innocent child, our society will become more honest.

Meanwhile, the Sacheon City Council conducted a campaign for an honest Lunar New Year in February and provided anti-corruption integrity education for council members and secretariat staff in March to promote the establishment of an honest council and the spread of an integrity culture.

Chairman Yoon Hyung-geun stated, “The Sacheon City Council is leading the way in creating a council trusted by citizens and building a clean Sacheon through various integrity policies,” adding, “Integrity is the mission of council members. We will continue to develop and implement diverse programs.”
