The Democratic Party of Korea increased pressure ahead of the first summit meeting proposed by President Yoon Suk-yeol by raising the issue of economic mismanagement. In particular, they repeatedly urged acceptance of the '250,000 KRW Livelihood Recovery Support Fund' that Representative Lee Jae-myung proposed during the recent general election.
On the morning of the 22nd, Representative Lee Jae-myung stated at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, "I will meet the president and convey the public sentiment revealed in this general election without distortion," adding, "The people have sternly commanded, 'Life is difficult,' and 'Revive the livelihood.'" He emphasized, "Our politics must resolve the people's issues related to their livelihoods," and "I hope this summit will become a turning point for the restoration of politics for the people."

Representative Lee pointed out, "The recent high oil prices and strong dollar situation are being perceived as unforeseen variables, yet the Minister of Economy and Finance calmly states that 'core inflation is stable, so prices will stabilize in the second half of the year,'" adding, "It is like the situation last year when they were singing the 'high in the first half, low in the second half' tune."
Senior Supreme Council Member Jeong Cheong-rae mentioned major special prosecutor plans targeting the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, including allegations of investigation interference in the case of a fallen Marine Corps soldier, saying, "President Yoon Suk-yeol is expected to cooperate without veto," and emphasized, "We cannot turn a blind eye to this issue at the summit meeting."
In particular, Representative Lee Jae-myung repeatedly urged acceptance of the 'Livelihood Recovery Support Fund' of 250,000 KRW per citizen, which he proposed during the general election. Senior Council Member Jeong said, "The issue of immediately providing 250,000 KRW to all citizens is possible if the president makes a decision," and added, "Even if everything cannot be settled at the summit, we must discuss and set directions on five issues of state corruption and urgent livelihood matters."
Supreme Council Member Park Chan-dae also said, "I hope President Yoon reflects on what the public sentiment revealed by the general election is," and added, "Accepting the nationwide 250,000 KRW Livelihood Recovery Support Fund is a good opportunity to show that the president is interested in recovering the livelihood economy." Supreme Council Member Jang Kyung-tae also called for a shift in government policy and urged as the first change, "Actively cooperate with the Livelihood Recovery Support Fund proposed by the Democratic Party at the summit meeting."
