The '2024 Cheongsando Slow Walking Festival,' which began on the 6th in Cheongsando, Wando?the first Slow City in Asia?has concluded with a total of about 33,000 visitors.

Especially on weekends during the festival, around 22,000 people visited, making Wando Port and major tourist spots in Cheongsando bustling with tourists.

This year's festival was held under the theme "I Need Healing, Walk Cheongsando," and 1,937 people participated in the festival's representative program, 'Cheongsan Wanbo,' enjoying the spring of Cheongsando where rapeseed flowers were in full bloom while walking the slow trails.

Due to strong magnetic influence causing compasses to malfunction, the mysterious rock called Beombawi on Bojeoksan Mountain in Cheongsando hosted a 'Qi Healing' program with professional instructors, attended by 250 people. About 60 people joined the 'Starry Cheongsando' night photography outing to capture the Milky Way.

The county plans to continue operating the Beombawi Qi Healing program.

During the festival, visitors also steadily came to the Cheongsando Marine Healing Park to experience seaweed, herb maekbansuk (heated stone), sound, and scent healing.

Although the festival has ended, an event offering a 30% discount (on weekdays) on first-floor program fees at the Wando Marine Healing Center continues until the 30th for tourists who visit Cheongsando and hold a ferry ticket.

A county official expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the cooperation of residents and tourists, we were able to successfully conclude the festival," and added, "Next year, we will prepare a variety of programs to further promote the charm of Slow City Cheongsando."

Meanwhile, Cheongsando is a place where beautiful natural scenery such as blue sea, mountains, guduljang rice paddies, and stone walls blend with traditional culture. It was selected as Asia's first Slow City on December 1, 2007.

The 'Slow Trail,' named for the way visitors naturally slow their pace, captivated by the beautiful scenery, consists of 11 courses totaling 42.195 km and was designated as the 'World Slow Trail No. 1' by the International Slow City Federation in 2011.
