Starbucks Korea announced on the 22nd that it will strengthen its coffee lineup by newly introducing the 'Flat White,' characterized by its rich espresso flavor, starting from the 23rd.
The Flat White is a beverage that has consistently gained popularity at global Starbucks locations. Starbucks Korea explained that due to the steadily increasing domestic demand for classic coffee that allows customers to deeply enjoy the original flavor of coffee, it has decided to introduce it in Korea as well.
The Flat White uses a ristretto shot, which is extracted quickly in a shorter time compared to a regular espresso shot. Unlike a cafe latte, which is made with one regular espresso shot for a tall size, the Flat White uses two ristretto shots, maintaining the deep and rich flavor of the coffee beans while maximizing a smooth taste.
In particular, when enjoyed as a hot beverage, it is finished with a smooth and rich milk foam created by skilled baristas, topped with a white dot (a white dot-shaped latte art), allowing customers to fully experience the rich coffee flavor not only in taste but also visually. In the tasting sessions conducted with customers and partners before the launch of the Flat White, it received positive evaluations for the perfect harmony of rich coffee and smooth milk, as well as its savory and clean taste.
To celebrate the launch of the Flat White, Starbucks will hold a promotion for Starbucks Rewards Gold members from the 23rd to the 27th, where members will receive 2 extra stars when paying for a Flat White with a Starbucks card registered to their account during the 5-day event.
Choi Hyun-jung, head of Starbucks Food and Beverage Development, said, “We hope that the newly launched Flat White will become another choice for customers who prefer coffee that stays true to the original taste of coffee,” and added, “We will continue to introduce differentiated beverages so that more customers can have a broader coffee experience through Starbucks.”
